Ingersoll Rand OEM 2340 Pressure Switch Replacement 23474653
The pressure switch turns the compressor on when it hits the lower pressure setpoint and turns the compressor off when the upper setpoint is reached.
The unloader valve is swivel based and can be adjusted to fit the unloader tube if needed. The pre-set cut-in pressure is 145psi and the cut-off pressure is 175psi providing a 30 psi pressure differential. The 23474653 utilizes 4 threaded ¼” female ports for the safety valve, gauge, and tank connection. The switch also includes an on/off switch.
The pressure switch needs to be replaced if the compressor does not turn on at the lower setpoint or does not turn off at the upper pressure setpoint (causing the safety valve the blow off). This results from the contacts being welded together over time. If you find your pressure switch is constantly leaking out of the unloader line, you should consider changing the check valve instead. Please call or email our parts department if you need help sourcing a check valve.
This is an OEM switch from Ingersoll Rand. Plenty of aftermarket switches are sold online, but many of them are not rated for the full load amp draw of the compressor and will cause pre-mature wear to the switch. The OEM switch from Ingersoll Rand is rated for a higher amp draw and is much heavier duty compared to others.
This pressure switch was used on the 2340L5, 2340N5, TS4L5 and TS51.
