The Ingersoll Rand SS5L5 electric single stage air compressor is ideal for most anyone from the do-it-yourselfer, to the professional air compressor user.

The SS5L5 reciprocating compressor utilizes a cast iron piston compressor pump with deep finned crankcase cylinder that provides 360 degree cooling for heat dissipation. The cast iron flywheel forces a “cyclone” air blast to provide cooling for the deep finned cylinders which further reduces operating temperatures. The cylinder is precision honed for low oil carryover. There are three piston rings for sealing compression and oil control. The taper compression ring and beveled oil scraper ring provide quick seating. An oil control ring maintains proper lubrication on cylinder wall to prevent the pump from seizing up. The compressor pulley also acts as a cooling fan with fan for increased cooling air across the motor and compressor pump. The inlet air filter has a durable metal canister with a dry type 10 micron element that is also designed to decrease the noise level.

The 230v single phase motor uses a manual thermal overload protection so no magnetic motor starter with separate overload protection is required. Simply wire directly to your breaker or fusible disconnect. The motor bearings are greaed for life and the bearings do not need regreasing during service. The pump and motor are mounted on a 60 gallon vertical receiver tank that is ASME certified and comes with a pre-installed pressure gauge, safety valve, and ball valve for system isolation. The belt guard is a wired enclosed guard to provide shielding around the flywheel and motor pulley.
