Ingersoll Rand Thermal Valve Actuator Spring – 22186720

The 22186696 thermal valve spring is used on a wide variety of Ingersoll Rand rotary screw air compressors. A thermal spring holds the thermostatic actuator inside of the manifold block, causing this to open and close when the oil temperature rises. This allows oil to flow through the cooler reducing the air compressor temperature.

It is recommended to replace the spring anytime the thermal actuator valve is replaced. The two most common thermal valves associated with this item are 22463368 and 22186720.

22186696 is used on a significant number of IR rotary screw compressors between 5 and 50hp. This is common on the UP6 series, IRN Nirvana variable speed line, and the RS series.
